Steve Watson

Vice President

Steve Watson attended Temple University from 1975-1980. He graduated from Temple in 1980 Cumme-Laude, with a Bachelor of Science Degree. This was after his first year with the Denver Broncos Football Club. Steve went back to Temple in 1980 and lived in the dormitory taking 16 credit hours while running on the track team (used extra year of eligibility). Steve was not drafted in 1979 but walked on with the Denver Broncos as a free agent. As a Senior at Temple University, Steve was selected to the Associated Press All-East Team. When a participant in the East-West Shrine Classic college football all-star game declined to play, Steve was asked to replace him by his Coach at Temple who was an assistant coach in the Shrine Classic. Steve was later inducted into the Temple University Sports Hall of Fame. His career with the Denver Broncos Football team was from 1979-1987. In 1981 one of the starting wide receivers was injured and Steve got his chance to play and never looked back. He was named All-Pro/All-NFL and selected to play in the NFL Pro-Bowl. For the 5-year period from 1981-1985 only 2 other wide receivers in the NFL accumulated more yards receiving, James Lofton and Steve Largent, and they are both in the Hall of Fame. After his playing career Steve was asked to be a coach with the Denver Broncos by his former coach Mike Shanahan, from 2000-2008. When the Broncos changed direction, Steve moved to the college ranks and coached at the University of Minnesota 2010-2011, and finished his college coaching career at Indiana State University. After leaving the coaching ranks, Steve was invited to join a real estate team and is currently in residential sales. When he’s not selling homes, he is a motivational speaker. He is married and has a family that he is very devoted too, however, his greatest passion is his love for the Lord.
